Why have Private DNS?

If you use PlatiniumHost nameservers, your clients will see ns1.platiniumhost.com and know who your provider is. With private DNS, they will see ns1.yourbrand.com — your own brand. This is fundamental for a professional hosting business.

Step 1 — Register Glue Records in Your Domain

Glue records are the records that link ns1.yourbrand.com to an IP. You must create them in the panel where you registered your domain.

You need:

ns1.yourbrand.com → Your server's IP
ns2.yourbrand.com → Your server's IP (can be the same)

In GoDaddy: My Domains → DNS → Nameservers → Add private nameserver
In Namecheap: Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → Nameserver Registration

Step 2 — Configure in WHM

  1. Log in to WHM
  2. Go to "Server Configuration → Basic cPanel/WHM Setup"
  3. In the Primary Nameserver and Secondary Nameserver fields, type:
    ns1.yourbrand.com and ns2.yourbrand.com
  4. Save changes

Step 3 — Register Nameservers in WHM DNS

  1. In WHM, go to "DNS Functions → Nameserver IPs"
  2. Add ns1.yourbrand.com with your server's IP
  3. Add ns2.yourbrand.com with the same IP
  4. Save
⏱ Propagation: Glue records can take 24-48 hours to propagate. Once active, all accounts you create will use your brand's nameservers.
✅ Final Result: Your clients will configure ns1.yourbrand.com on their domains. Your provider (PlatiniumHost) is invisible to them.
