Create Email Aliases and Forwarders

What is an Email Alias?

An alias is an additional email address that automatically redirects all messages to another account. For example, you can receive emails from sales@yourcompany.com, info@yourcompany.com, and support@yourcompany.com all in a single inbox without creating 3 separate accounts.

Creating a Forwarder in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Go to the "Email" section
  3. Click on "Forwarders"
  4. Click on "Add Forwarder"
  5. In "Address to Forward" type the alias. E.g.: sales
  6. Select your domain
  7. In "Forward to Email Address" type your main email
  8. Click on "Add Forwarder"
✅ Done! Now all emails arriving at sales@yourdomain.com will automatically appear in your main inbox.

Difference between an alias and an email account

  • Alias/Forwarder: Only redirects. Does not take up space. You cannot log in with it.
  • Email Account: Has its own mailbox, space, and password.

Forwarding all domain emails

If you want any email sent to any address on your domain to reach your inbox (even anything@yourdomain.com), in cPanel go to Forwarders → Add Domain Forwarder and configure the destination.
