Upload Files via FTP with FileZilla
What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) te permite transfer files betwein your computadora and your servidor de hosting. Es la way más rápida de upload, download or editar los files of your website.
Step 1 — Download FileZilla
FileZilla es free and está available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Descárgalo en filezilla-project.org → Download FileZilla Client.
Step 2 — Obtén tus credenciales FTP
Encuéntralas in your email de bienvenida or en cPanel → FTP Accounts:
- Host: ftp.tudomain.com (o la IP of the servidor)
- User: your user de cPanel
- Password: your password de cPanel
- Port: 21 (FTP) or 22 (SFTP — más secure)
Step 3 — Connect en FileZilla
- Open FileZilla
- In the barra superior ingresa: Host, User, Password and Port
- Click en "Conexión rápida"
- Si aparece una warning de certificate, haz clic en "Aceptar"
Step 4 — Navega and sube files
FileZilla tiene dos paneles:
- Panel izquierdo: Your computadora
- Panel derecho: Your servidor
Para upload your website, navega in the lado derecho hasta la folder public_html. Luego arrastra los files of the lado izquierdo al derecho.
⚠️ Important: Los files of your sitio deben estar in the folder
public_html. If you upload files outside esa folder, no serán visibles in your domain.💡 Tip: Usa SFTP (port 22) en vez de FTP for mayor security. La conexión va cifrada and tus credenciales están protegidas.
