How to set up private nameservers

Private nameservers are your own nameserver DNS. They use your domain – for example, ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com – instead of your web hosting company's name.

The most common situation in which private nameservers are used is when resellers are trying to establish their own brand. Private nameservers not only look professional, but they also make the process of transferring between servers much easier. In case of a transfer, you, as a reseller, will not need to contact each client – they will propagate to the new server as soon as you update the IP addresses of your nameserver.
